Flowing through the Ironwoods

It is always exciting to photograph homes that showcase brilliant architecture as was the case in this wonderful home designed by Metropole Architects, along the fairways of the Zimbali Golf Course. With a clever use of the elevations available and a classic Metropole trend to flood the home with loads of natural light in the common areas, this modern contemporay home offers a grand entrance and the sense of having arrived as you descend down the floating staircase into a magnificent open plan and sophisticated kitchen, dining area and lounge. The flow continues through the garden and entertainment area wrapped by the bedrooms to the left as you descend again down to the pool area and pub.

Around midday the weather was showing signs of a classic winter’s day in Durban with clear blue skies and little wind to speak of. But once I arrived at the property in the later afternoon, the wind had picked up and cloud cover started to move in. This concerned me intiailly but eventually that cloud cover made for just the most magical backdrop of mottled, dramatic light. Enjoy a select few from this beautiful home showcase.

Thanks Mike. This one was a tricky one with the multiple elevations. Sensational home though with beautiful interiors.
