A Place Like Heaven

Zululami is the proposed new site for a residential estate development on the north coast of KwaZulu Natal, near Sheffield Beach. Zululami means “heaven” in the native Zulu language and I could suitably imagine how living here would make you feel you’re in a place like heaven.

A few weeks back I was privileged to take a helicopter flight to the 100 hectare area to achieve an aerial showcase of the site for marketing material and to provide one of the directors a renewed vision for the beauty of this project becoming a reality in having some of north coast’s most magnificent homes perched on the hillside with sensational views of the Indian Ocean.

Below is an overview of this flight showcasing some imagery from the trip out – the new Ridgeside commercial properties, Zimbali’s Fairmont Resort Hotel, Ballito beachfront, then on to Zululami Residential Estate site as well as some great residential estate views on our return.

The Ballito beachfront and then on the right the well known Thompson's tidal pool next to the hole in the wall.

The first view of the Zululami Residential Estate site with its natural forest providing a contrast to the sea views. The estate horseshoes around this forest.

The entire estate looking out to the Indian Ocean. You'll notice the boundary fence creating circular division from the neighbouring land.

For the return fligh path I instructed the pilot to route us over the Westbrook Beach Club residential estate for the resident agent.
