Especially with the buzz of the Rugby World Cup around at the moment it was an honor to photograph a home of a former Blue Bulls rugby player who has now moved down to the coast of Kwazulu Natal after having retired from professional rugby a few years back. Such a gentleman and I love the fact that the couple were so humbled to have me showcase their home in the best possible light. The weather wasn’t ideal as the winds are a problem at this time of the year and with the home being quite near the sea it was rather unsheltered from the strong winds but the overcast conditions made for a dramatic, filtered, deep blue backdrop of a wonderful and thoughtfully laid-out family home.
The home featured a significant amount of wood work and custom made furniture by Homewood Crafted Luxury – note the dining table, office desks and beautiful headboard of the king-size bed below.
