In a Different Class

I know I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again! I do get to see some amazing homes and beautiful buildings but this particular home on the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal ranks up there as one of my favourites by top architects Atelier and Associates. The flow and style of the home, the architectural elements and well thought out finishes were fantastic. The whole place brought the incredible sea views into the living space as you drifted away on the sounds of the ocean that feels so close you put your hand out and touch it. I also marveled at the way the home owners arrived at their holiday home for this showcase … in their Eurojet helicopter. What an incredibly humble family so full of welcoming hospitality which made the whole experience that much more enjoyable.

I particularly enjoyed the wine cellar, being stocked with 2 of my favourite wines – most especially the Chocolate Block which we enjoyed with a post shoot dinner. Another unique element of this residence was the fully featured cinema lounge. I’ll let you enjoy some of the imagery that I captured on this stormy November evening rather than ramble on any more!

Some guests went for a quick flight down the coast while I had to 'work'!

A crazy electric storm blew in that evening.

  1. Grant you do seem to visit some really cool homes and do them justice with the photos, well done. I like your new helicopter, when are we going for a flip?

Thanks Wade. Yeah I was really bleek when I missed out on the opportunity to go for a ride in this bird. Got some great images of the take off and and landing though. It really is an impressive machine.

  2. Awesome photos once again Grant. I like that 14 seater dining room table with what looks like a separate table for the kids? Love that capture with the lightning strikes on the horizon. I mostly like that ‘Veuve Clicquot’ champagne in the wine cellar…!
