If you want to change your view of your city living and experience the spectacular sandstone cliffs and nature at it’s best as you listen to the river bending it’s way through the gorge below, then I’d seriously recommend The Gorge Private Game Lodge and Spa. Situated just a short 2 hour drive from Durban with stone rondawels perched on the hillside overlooking the Oribi Gorge, this venue is sure to take your mind off anything as you throw your troubles in your old bag and smile at the true beauty.
It was a pleasure to meet and chat to one of the owners of the resort, who’s philosophy on service is that he wants his staff to have more fun than the guests in making the stay at The Gorge as memorable as possible. Mike says that he creates the opportunity for the guests to be able to stay with them but it’s the whole team of staff who keep those guests coming back due to impeccable service levels and fine dining experiences. Deon Kemp, head chef at The Gorge, cooked us a sensational 3 course showcasing the complete experience of a stay at The Gorge – I equally enjoyed the opportunity do some fine food photography too.
