Inspired by the love of good food and incredible coffee aromas and flavour, I really enjoy the commissions to showcase coffee shops and speciality restaurants. In my ability to beautifully capture the interior finishes, combined with the added skill in seeking out the detail of the chef’s dishes and the precise barista process, you’ll realize how this detailed imagery can then be used to enhance the menu – as we all know the patrons really do order with their eyes so give them some eye candy! Below is evidence of some time spent with the lensbaby (view www.lensbaby.com for more on this wonderful lens) in detailing the barista process on an old and retro Astoria espresso machine. With the lensbaby I am able to achieve wonderfully creative in-camera art with blur and soft focus effects. These work great to for menus as well to print oversize on canvas and decorate the interior walls of the establishment. It means so much more and becomes personal when it’s imagery from your shop.
