Whistler Alpine Village

Whistler Village, about 60km inland from the West coast of British Columbia, Canada, played host to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and is truly an alpine village that I’m sure is rivalled by some of the best European winter destinations. The village is the heart of the Whistler Blackcomb ski area. At the end of the main village street, filled with major clothing brand stores, souvenir kiosks and range of coffee shops and fine dining restaurants, you will find the gondola and ski lifts to start ascending the mountain for hours of endless fun on the snow slopes. You can be guaranteed to be immersed in the culture that makes Whistler so unique where the Village is big enough to have all the amenities of a world-class resort, yet small enough for you to feel its warmth and distinctive hospitality.

The new outdoor ice rink that is surrounded by a park covered in snow.

Town Plaza Square and Deer Lodge on the left which was our accommodation for the 2 nights right in the village. Beyond sensational!

The world famous Chateau at Whistler which is part of the Fairmont group of hotels. The ski slopes of Blackcomb mountain behind the Chateau.

The entrance area of Chateau Whistler looking rather majestic amoung the snow.
